What a portfolio needs

What does a multi-site energy portfolio need?

In short: Treat every site as one portfolio: one register of every NMI, tariff and contract end date, one place the invoices land, and one set of numbers to compare sites against. Termina runs that for 10,000+ business locations across Australia and New Zealand, and it’s $0 to join.

A register built from the bills, contract dates you can see, buying power, one invoice stream and data that survives an audit.

One register, built from the bills

Every site with its NMI, retailer, tariff, contract dates, consumption and peak demand, including sites a landlord manages and those inside an embedded network.

Contract dates you can see

The expensive failure is a site rolling out of contract onto a higher rate with nobody noticing. Every end date sits in one view, and when a rate expires we go back to market for that site.

Buying power one site cannot get

10,000+ business locations buying as one, with every site priced on its own.

Data that survives an audit

Bill-level data validated against the invoice maths and the contract terms, with audit-ready emissions data for AASB S2 reporting.

The process

How does Termina take on a multi-site portfolio?

Four steps, and nothing changes until you approve it.

Send your latest bills

Electricity, gas or both, as the PDF from the retailer. One site or all of them.

We compare the whole market

Every retailer that will take your business, including the ones that pay brokers nothing.

You approve before anything changes

You see the saving for each site and the rate it will pay, already after our share.

We keep checking

On small business plans we re-check your prices every month and switch you when there’s something cheaper.

Who pays your adviser

How do energy brokers get paid?

Most are paid a commission by the retailer that wins your contract. Termina refuses retailer commissions.

A commission-paid broker

Paid by the retailer that wins your contract. The commission usually sits inside your unit rate, so it never shows as a line on your bill.

Termina

No retailer pays us anything. Our only income is a share of the savings we find, and every rate we quote is already after our share.

Questions

What do multi-site businesses ask?

Can one retailer cover all my sites?

It can, but one retailer is rarely the cheapest for every site, because rates vary by network area and tariff. We price each site on its own and keep every bill in one place.

How much does Termina charge?

$0 to join. On small business plans, the only way we get paid is a share of what we save you, split 50/50. No saving, no fee. Our fee sits inside your rates. For large-market sites: No fee to run the tender. Once you switch, 1% of your bill (capped at $80 a month) plus 10% of what we save you.

Is the platform free?

The platform is free when we run your procurement, and your first 50 bills on it are free.

What is Termina?

Termina is an Australian and New Zealand business energy procurement company and energy data platform. 10,000+ business locations buy their energy through us, we have saved $11.2M+ across ANZ, and it’s $0 to join.

Multi-Site Energy Management Australia

Treat every site as one portfolio, not twenty separate bills. That means one register holding every NMI, tariff, contract end date and meter type, one place the invoices land, and one set of numbers you compare sites against.

Termina runs that register for 10,000+ business locations across Australia and New Zealand, and buys for all of them as a single group. $11.2M+ saved so far, across 37+ retailers monitored daily. $0 cost unless we save you money.

What a multi-site portfolio actually needs

One register, not a spreadsheet someone maintains

Every site, with its NMI, retailer, account number, tariff, contract start and end, annual consumption and peak demand. Most businesses build this in a spreadsheet and it is out of date the week after someone leaves. Termina builds it from the bills themselves, including the sites a landlord manages and the ones inside an embedded network.

Contract dates you can see before they bite you

The expensive failure in multi-site energy is not a bad rate. It is a site rolling out of contract and landing on a standing offer with nobody noticing. Across a 200-site portfolio that happens quietly, several times a year. Every end date sits in one view, and when a rate expires we go back to market for that site. Our clients switch 4 to 6 times a year and never have to ask.

Buying power one site cannot get alone

A single site negotiates as a single site. 10,000+ business locations negotiating as one group get prices the open market does not publish. This is the part a spreadsheet can never give you, however well you maintain it.

One invoice stream, whatever the retailer mix

Finance teams in multi-site businesses lose more hours to reconciliation than to procurement. One channel of invoice communication, one format, one export into your accounting system, regardless of how many retailers sit behind it.

Reporting that survives an audit

Bill-level data sourced from the retailer and validated against the invoice maths and the contract terms, not estimates modelled from a registry. That is the difference between a number you report and a number you can defend, and for Group 1, 2 and 3 reporters under AASB S2 it is the whole difference.

What this looks like on real portfolios

Propel Funeral Partners, 286 sites: $170k projected annual saving across three fuels, Group 1 AASB reporter. Jolt Charge, 166 sites: $115.6k saved on $1.96M of spend, plus around $60k a year off renewable certificates. Precision Valve, one site: $83.6k saved on $746k of spend. The same method works on one large site as on 286 smaller ones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Termina and how it can save you money on your energy bills.

Termina operates an energy buyers group to unlock prices below the current best market prices. Due to the complexity of the energy market, these prices don't always cover every meter type in every region at one time. In those cases we continue to automatically keep you on the lowest prices available in the market. Both of these strategies, driven from our saving split model mean we always aim to keep you on the lowest prices, and maximise your savings.

Termina will send you one simple invoice every month which will ensure your electricity supply and our monthly 'review and switch' service to maximise your savings and keep electricity costs as low as possible. You can choose a monthly invoice or automatic direct debit, which some retailers offer discounts for.

Using a single energy provider for all your laundromat locations may seem efficient, but rates can vary significantly by area. This means some locations may end up paying more. Termina compares offers from all retailers, ensuring your laundromat benefits from the best rates at each site while streamlining billing to make managing multiple locations as easy as using a single provider.

Brokers often receive commissions from energy providers, and only compare 4-6 retailers in the market. Termina’s savings split model aligns with your laundromat’s best interests by focusing on maximising savings. With our platform, you can easily track electricity, gas, and LPG consumption across all locations, while staying on the lowest rates possible. Or integrate your broker's prices into our platform and get the best of both worlds.
